2008 Wagner Speedway General Track Rules
RULE BOOK DISCLAIMER
The
rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for
the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable
requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of
all events, and by participating in these events, all participating in
these events, all participants are deemed to have compiled with these
rules. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in
no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator,
or official.
The
race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate
deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further
restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable
requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL
RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS.
Any interpretation or
deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials.
Their decision is final.
No courtesy races will be given. All competitors must comply with the rules in the division they have entered or you will not be allowed to compete. No exceptions.
RAIN
POLICY
We all wish for blue sunny skies on race day, but if the
weather turns here’s what you need to do…..
In
the event that rain puts a halt to our racing program, the race will be
considered done if all the heat races are fully done. NO
RAIN CHECKS WILL BE ISSUED and the feature races will be run
before the start of next weeks racing program, with complete race
program to follow. If the heat races are not completed, RAIN
CHECKS WILL BE ISSUED, and a complete program will be run the
following week. ALL RAIN
CHECKS MUST BE USED WITH (2) WEEKS FOLLOWING THE RAIN OUT. Rain
Checks CANNOT be used on Special Events.
1. All general rules,
general regulations, protest rules, safety procedures, race procedures,
and lineup procedures will apply to ALL DRIVERS AND THEIR PIT CREWS!! IT
IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO KNOW THESE RULES AND FOLLOW THEM!!!!!!
2. Wagner
Speedway
reserves the right to refuse any team from racing at Wagner Speedway
for any reason. This may include any activities by a driver or team
member that is deemed detrimental to the success of Wagner Speedway.
3. DRIVERS AND PIT
CREWS PRIOR TO, OR DURING ANY RACING EVENT WILL NOT CONSUME ANY
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES. NO ONE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRUGS OR ALCOHOL WILL
BE ALLOWED AT THE RACEWAY.
4. All calls are final!
No arguing with track officials during or after the races.
DRIVERS:
1.
Drivers will
be the person responsible for the actions of their crew and /or
families. Un-sportsman
like conduct (excessive foul language, pushing,
fighting etc) may result in the driver losing their pay and points for
the night or ejection from the track. Conflicts between two cars that
carries over into the pits or tech area, the actions of the driver or
pit crew may result in previous action listed.
2. The drivers shall be the sole spokesman for the crew or owner in and all matters pertaining to the program and only the driver shall take part in any arbitration with officials in charge.
3.
All the car class
rules will be enforced by Wagner Speedway Employees
4. ALL MONEY FROM FINES WILL GO INTO YEAR END POINTS FUND. ALL FINES MUST BE PAID IN FULL BEFORE YOU CAN RETURN TO RACE AT WAGNER SPEEDWAY OR ANY EVENT AT WAGNER SPEEDWAY.
5. Any driver or pit
personnel giving track official a finger gesture will be fined $50.00
6. Foul language
directed at an official or a competitor is a $100.00 fine
7. Off track rough
driving or excessive speed in pit area $150.00
8. Fighting in the Pits
$250.00 fine
9. Pushing, shoving or
assaulting a track official is $500.00 fine
PIT AREA SIGN IN:
1. All drivers, pit
members, and any other personnel entering the pits must sign a waiver
before entering the pit area.
2. You must be 14 years of age to race any class at Wagner Speedway.
3. Anyone under the age
of 18 yrs old must have a signed and notarized consent from his or her
parent or guardian which must be in addition to the signed waiver pit
pass.
4. Everyone in the pit area is required to have a wristband, which should be in plain sight at all times.
5. Signing the waiver
form will be considered evidence that you have read and understand the
contest rules, program, and payoff’s and agree to complete
accordingly.
6. No person will be
allowed to sign any forms for another person.
STARTING TIME:
1. All regular season
races
will be on Saturday night and start at

(every driver is expected to attend)
4. WE WILL ASK FOR
EVERYONE TO COME OUT TO PACK THE TRACK.
5. Hot Laps immediately
follows packing the track which starts at
7:00 PM
6. National Anthem and
Invocation 7:50
7. Racing starts at
8:00
SHARP
ORDER OF PROGRAM:
1.
Wagner Speedway
Officials will determine the order of events. It will be announced at the
pit meeting and written on line-up board.
2. When one class of
cars enter the track to race we expect the next class to arrive at the
staging area immediately and get In line for their race. Anyone entering
the staging area late will start in the back of the field.
3.You must leave the
line-up are under your own power. If you need a push start you will be
sent to the rear of the field.
WORK AREA FOR FEATURE RACE ONLY:
1. There will be a 3
lap rule enforced. If your car is not in motion at the end of 3 laps you
will NOT be allowed back on the Track
2. If you exit the
track during the race to go into the pits you will not be allowed back
on the track during that race. All work must be done on cars in the work
area.
3. Pit crews, or anyone
from the pit area, will not be allowed on the track at anytime. If
anyone attempts to come on the track that car will be disqualified.
BE A SPORTSMAN:
1. If
you have a flat tire you might want to consider pulling your car to the
infield so a yellow flag won’t be displayed. Remember all features
have time limits.
2. When you go to the
Work area for any reason even if you were not the cause of the yellow,
you must start in the back of the field on the restart of the race
3. A car is not allowed
to stop on the track for any reason unless it is by a track official. If
you stop you will start in the back of the field on the restart.
4.
Each
driver will get 2 spinouts if it is your fault you will be OUT!
GREEN FLAG ORIGINAL STARTS:
1. All original starts
will be two wide and should start at the white line in number four
corner. The pole car sets the pace and starts the race. This pace should
be steady and not too fast not too slow. The rest of the field should be
nose to tail. Anyone jumping way outside or inside from the rest of the
field before the green flag is thrown will start at the rear of the
field.
2.The flagman will
indicate green flag racing next lap by showing the curled up green flag
and the green light flashing as the cars go by the flag stand.
GREEN FLAG RESTARTS:
1. All restarts will be
with an orange cone located just out of turn 4. When the flagman
signals the rolled up green flag and the flashing green light on the
front straightaway a restart will occur next lap. The leader will set a
steady pace and will not accelerate until reaching the white line in
number four corner. Everyone else in the field should be nose to tail.
The entire field must pass between the cone and the outside front wall.
No passing shall take place before you go by the cone. Going the wrong
side of the cone or hitting the cone will result in the yellow flag
coming out and that car will go to the rear of the field unless it has a
pair of yellows then it will go to the infield.
YELLOW FLAGS:
1. In the event that a
yellow flag is shown for a accident , debris on the track, or the
flagman determines the track unsafe to race, the flagman will make a
determination which car caused the yellow flag. The car or cars that
caused the yellow flag will be sent to the rear of the field.
2. Any driver in the
heat or feature races causing two yellow flags will be disqualified for
the rest of the race and directly go to the pits.
3. When a yellow flag
is displayed all cars should immediately get in single file on the
topside of the track. Officials will place you in the correct order.
Officials may stop the field to line you up in the correct running
order.
4. All drivers are to
remain inside the car unless told by track official.
RED FLAGS:
1. All cars must STOP
as soon as possible! If you fail to do so you will be placed in the rear
of the field on the restart. DO NOT pass the accident scene under red.
2. ALL the reds are
closed and NO ONE is allowed on the track
3. All drivers are to
stay in the car unless told otherwise by a track official.
BLACK FLAGS:
The following
circumstances will result in the BLACK flag being used.
1.Flagerant bad driving
2. Bad sportsmanship by
a driver or his or her pit crewmembers. NO PAY NO POINTS!!
3. Being charged with 2
yellow flags in any one race whether it is a heat or feature.
4. Any use of the
“BUDDY SYSTEM” to block other drivers. NO PAY NO POINTS!!!
ACCIDENTS:
1. If you are involved
in an accident and the ambulance personnel or fire department are asked
to assist track personnel at the accident scene you MUST sign a release
and waiver form before you will be allowed to continue any racing that
evening.
2. If you have any type
of a rollover accident you will NOT be allowed to race the rest of the
evening.
3. If the ambulance
takes you to receive medical treatment at the hospital you will NOT be
allowed to race the rest of the evening.
TROPHY PRESENTATIONS:

TECH AREA/ WEIGHING:
1. Tech and Weighing
area is located on the
West end of the pits.
2. The top
3 finisher in all classes will go directly to the Tech and Scale area.
3. If you DO NOT go to
the tech area and go to your Pit stall after the races you WILL BE
DISQUALIFIED.
4. If you are not sure
you finished in the top
3 remain at the Tech Area until a track
official tells you that you didn’t finish in top.
5. The driver and one
pit member
only will be allowed in the Tech Area. They must stay with their
car, no movement between other cars in the inspection area.
6. Any car caught in
Tech Area after the feature race that Is illegal will be disqualified
for that night. NO EXCEPTIONS! THAT MEANS NO MONEY NO POINTS FOR THAT
NIGHT.
7. All cars must be pushed off of the scales. Failure to follow this rule may carry a fine and / or further penalties.
POINTS
SYSTEM:
Points will be awarded in the heat races as follows - 1st -15, 2nd -10, 3rd - 5.
For the feature the high point average cars will start to the back and the low point cars to the front.
All new cars will start at the rear of the heat and rear of the feature race for that night.
Points will be awarded in the feature event only and you must take the green flag in the feature to qualify for points. A minimum of 10 points will be awarded and progress up by 10 points. First place points will depend on how many cars are in the A feature.
If there are 14 cars in a feature the winner of the A feature will receive 140 points - second 130 third 120 and so on down to last place which will have 10 points.
PAYOUTS:
1. Drivers, owner or designated individual, must pickup checks.
2. Driver must take the
green flag in the feature to receive prize money and points for the
night.
3.Checks will be handed out the following week. If the driver is not there checks will be mailed.
PROVISIONAL:
1.
All drivers will be given 2 provisionals
per year.
2. If the regular driver is unable to attend a race you may have a substitute driver and receive the points the substitute driver accumulates.
3. The substitute driver must compete with the regular registered car and number of the driver who was unable to attend. You may not use a substitute car.
4. The substitute driver must clarify they are a substitute driver when they enter Wagner Speedway and pay their pit fee. The driver must also inform the Tech Officials before competing.
5. Failure to do so will result in the points going to the substitute driver and NOT the driver they were suppose to substitute for and the driver who was unable to attend will lose one of their 2 provisionals. No Exceptions.
DRIVER AND CAR CHANGES:
1. The driver of a car
that is racing in the A or B feature must be the same person that
qualified that car in the heat.
2. A car that is built
for a certain class can only be raced in that class
3. A driver IS
NOT ALLOWED to use a different car to race in the feature, only
the car he or she qualified in the heat.
4. If a driver races in
more than one class he needs to register for each class and pay driver
registration in each class.
Decisions of
Wagner Speedway
officials are binding
without exception!
